If you’ve already checked out the prologue demo for Fishbowl, the upcoming debut game from Rhea and Prateek at imissmyfriends, you’ll want to check out the expanded build, available now pas part of Steam Next Fest
The new prologue contains a few more conversations, including Alo’s boss, Iris, and landlord, Ms. Noor. The visual details in the background of each video call continue to impress me, especially how distinct they are from one another.
You also get a few more chances to try out the video editing mini-game, which grew from one of my least favorite moments in the game to one of my favorites. Now that I’ve been doing more editing of my own, it really does a good job of capturing the thrill of a great edit in a mini-game form.
The biggest additions to the demo, though, were tying Alo’s actions throughout the day to a flower and dialogue options! Do something like the laundry? Your status bar goes up, edging you closer to being a flower in bloom. Hang out on your couch and doom scroll? Just the opposite.
In turn, your status there can change dialogue options with your friends and family, unlocking some and making some unavailable.
Make sure to wishlist now – Fishbowl is coming out this April on PC and PlayStation 5. Thanks to Wholesome Presents and Rhea and Prateek for the chance to play the build early!
